These were small black ants. They didn't show any interest in food, so borax sugar was no help. Said a neighbor, "An ant who isn't interested in food is an ant who has already eaten well." Diatomaceous earth held them back, until it didn't.

From Wikipedia:

Obeah is often used for protection rather than for harm. The main social function of an Obeah practitioner is often as a herbalist. To assist with healing a client's ailments, the Obeahman/woman will often utilise baths, massages, and mixtures of various ingredients. "Bush baths" are often applied to relieve fevers, and involve a range of different herbal ingredients placed within hot water. These often rely on a knowledge of the properties of various animal and herbal ingredients. Graveyard dirt may be employed to access the spirit world.

Is there a word for the particular frustration someone feels when they are preparing to submit their two weeks' notice to their employer, because they are negotiating the offer letter with a new employer, but they haven't yet signed the offer letter for the new company, so their current employer doesn't yet know that they are about to leave, and the current employer is dumping unreasonable and frankly impossible-to-accomplish amounts of work on this someone's desk?

Hmm not sure what the "procrastinat" word root has in relation to the scenario. Let's say that in this scenario, the needs of this someone's clients must be met because this someone very much desires to take their clients with them to the next employer, so while they don't give two shits about leaving their current employer in the lurch, they very much cannot let down the actual end clients.

Perhaps 'salting the leech'. The host must wait for the parasite to drop off, while allowing its lifeblood to be sucked out for just a little bit longer.

I would called it cumbia-tinged salsa, Chris in kensington Bklyn. The guitars were def cumbia fuzz, but the percussion was more Puerto Rican/Cuban clavé.

OK, here is some Peruvian chicha. Veers somewhat from the "sound" of the rest of the set, but rules were made to be obliterated.

Thanks, Acid Cazh. Yes, my dear 12-year-old pup, Luna, has a rather aggressive case of osteosarcoma. She is in hospice care and receiving multiple pain meds. Just trying to give her as many treats and belly rubs as she can possibly stand until she can't.
