Last week you mentioned the Golden Festival. Had heard about it before and been wanting to go. And here it is this weekend, a 15 minute walk away! But the ticket is steep, and may in the end be prohibitive in the end for a stay-at-home Dad. Though I have some inside info from a Bulgarian dad in the neighborhood who plays the traditional strapped two-headed drum and goes annually that they don’t advertise it but food is probably included. Still, $90 is a big hit.
Man, sounds so good though. Came upon a similar Eastern European music jamboree upstate in the big hall of a campground where I’d just played a private gig (when I was working) and found it mesmerizing, so joyous and impassioned.
