Hi guys - Left channel out and low volume
  3:04pm
Cheree July:

Not sure who's streaming this because Don is still in TX & we're not live in studio🤔
Avatar 3:05pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Yeah I know. Weird. Not sure what’s up w that.
Avatar 3:05pm
Debbie Davenport:

Babs said she was overseeing the streaming process.
Avatar 3:06pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Hopefully that problem will resolve.
  3:07pm
Cheree July:

I just saw that earlier in the chat after I commented. Good to hear Underdog by Giorgio again tho!
  3:08pm
Cheree July:

Yea, me & Don ain't sure what up with that.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️
Avatar 3:09pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Left channel seems a bit distorted.
  3:10pm
Cheree July:

Yeah, it's kinda crackly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
DJ Babs:

Yeah, I'm seeing it here on my mixer and the left channel on the recordin is 1/4 lower than right...not sure that's something I can fix on my end. Let me see if I can twiddle things a bit here.
Avatar 3:11pm
Kitten Sparkles:

This song is probably not the best to check distortion levels. That guitar! So cool.
Avatar 3:11pm
Debbie Davenport:

feels more even right now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
DJ Babs:

yes, I was gonna say this is a bit of a fuzzbomb to begin with lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm
DJ Babs:

k good news I think we are seeing better balance between L and R now on the mixer.
  3:12pm
Cheree July:

YESSS! Action by The Sweet!🤘
Avatar 3:12pm
Debbie Davenport:

Sounds like it here. Thanks Babs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm
DJ Babs:

Avatar 3:13pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Sounds a bit better now, yes?
Avatar 3:14pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Thus song is easier to gauge that stuff during.
  3:14pm
Cheree July:

Too bad Solid Gold dancers weren't a thing yet when the Sweet recorded this. This would've been ideal for them to dance to💃

They would have made it work...that's the power of the solid gold dancers LOL

↳ Song: "I Can Do It" by "Rubettes"
Sounds great!
Avatar 3:17pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @3:14
My friend's big sister was a Solid Gold dancer. That's where I learned I could stick my finger down my throat to help with weight loss. That gal was super skinny yet she still was on the edge of being too heavy for tv.
  3:18pm
Cheree July:

The closest thing the 70s had was Ballet Zoom, I guess?
Avatar 3:19pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Yeah, my DJ mixer has seen better days - it was only $25: tho
  3:19pm
Cheree July:

Whoa, that's pretty messed up & sad to hear Debbie.
Avatar 3:19pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @3:19
It seemed common. we used to do it at home and at church potlucks.
  3:19pm
Cheree July:

Ya get what you pay for, Don.
Avatar 3:20pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Sometimes.
  3:20pm
Cheree July:

Oh dear god, Debbie.
Avatar 3:22pm
Debbie Davenport:

I can only guess how much pressure people in movies and television encounter. At least they don't do potato clauses anymore. Or perhaps they still do it but in a nicer way. I had a roommate who was a model for Sebastian hair products. she wasn't allowed to cut her hair while under contract.
Avatar 3:25pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Song: "Anna Laura Lee" by "Yellow Taxi"
What an enjoyable song intro.
  3:25pm
Cheree July:

Weird😵‍💫
  3:29pm
Cheree July:

I wonder if Taxi was singing Anna Laura Lee as a bubblegum/popsych double entendre for amphetamine aka meth?😵‍💫🤯🫨
Avatar 3:32pm
Debbie Davenport:

Do people call it that? I didn't know. I always just said speed.
The song does have a nice zoomy feel to it.
Avatar 3:34pm
Debbie Davenport:

You're right Don. It is interesting.
Avatar 3:44pm
Debbie Davenport:

Ha! "Solid Gold!" like our conversation Cheree.
Avatar 3:45pm
Debbie Davenport:

I've wanted this Angelo and 18 record for a long time. I don't find it.
  3:54pm
Cheree July:

Showed Don the video about how the arranger behind The Rah Band came up with this song. It's actually just wah wah pedals & guitar!
Avatar 3:55pm

Fuck it! If I still have to keep waiting for the vinyl, I will get a placeholder. Electric Asylum CD.

↳ Song: "That’s the Way a Woman Is" by "The Messengers"
I love how this song was big in Japan. I have heard at least two Japanese acts do a cover of this song.
Avatar 4:55pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Mr. Oxford @4:52
I remember reading it was in a Japanese commercial or something.
Avatar 4:56pm
Debbie Davenport:

I think that helps bands. I found out about Free Design that way. They were like in a zillow ad on tv. It's cheesy accapella music, but that Love You song is so good!
Avatar 4:57pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Debbie Davenport @4:55
That's interesting. I am going to see if I can find the commercial online.

Here is a Japanese cover by The Chirps: www.youtube.com...

wikipedia probably clarifies it.

Well either way, it was definitely big in Japan. Not sure if I can trust Wikipedia fully though as it can be inaccurate sometimes :)
