My father bought a very good audio system in the '60's, that I soon took over.

Older siblings. I inherited all their oddball stuff. They were pretty square, so my collection is kinda eccentric. FMU and estate sales dotted the i.

Home is where the🫀is (to lifelong immersion lost in the music).
Dad was a semi-professional ‘Dixieland & beyond’ drummer.

Now I purposely look for strange recordings. I recently found a Trinidad steel drum LP and a typing instructional.

However, my parents drew the line at taking me to see The Jefferson Airplane at The Shrine Auditorium in 1968 when I was thirteen years old.

At 12? My mom chaperoned my cousin & 👁️ to MSG to experience Kiss on their ‘Love Gun’ tour! What a trouper 😇. Unforgettable and literally lost some hearing that night. Ears rang for 2 days! I could only dream to have come of age with the British Invasion era & Glam-Rock.

Indeed - we caught that recent tour as well! Great subtle horn charts & arrangements for that ensemble.

Yea, semi mortifying - yet really too young to know any better. Blissful youth. Re Kiss -
I believe mom loved the utter theatricality of it.
