If you mean the cat, how do you know that her original name was Chloe? That's uncanny. No, having two Chloes was not feasible, so we renamed Chloe the kitty, Connie the kitty. It sounds similar at least. She's our Jersey girl. We drove to Hoboken to pick her up a little over a year ago.

I saw the film when it first came out when I was sixteen. It kind of blew my mind. I'm not sure it was very good, though the shear audacity of it kind of knocked me out. I saw it again at BAM a few years ago and it is still gloriously unhinged. The production design is still striking. It was definitely a departure for Paul Schrader, one of my favorite filmmakers.

I've been listening to and commenting on WFMU a bit too much today. I have an excuse; at home with a cold and can't do much else. Still, if this becomes habitual I'll be a bit worried. Is there a 12-step program for WFMU addiction?

I bought it on CD, not vinyl. I used to be able to say where I bought all of my CDs, though volume and age have gotten the best of me. I'm struck that those still existed in the late 90s. They appeared to be too good a deal for us. I'm also struck that BMG would feature Cibo Matto. I guess the 90s was the decade of the underground briefly bubbling up above ground.
