I'm not sure it was very good, though the shear audacity of it kind of knocked me out. I saw it again at BAM a few years ago and it is still gloriously unhinged. The production design is still striking. It was definitely a departure for Paul Schrader, one of my favorite filmmakers.

It's called My Beloved Monster. I recommend it @) It's full of info about cats as well as his story. My cat, Willy, is like a small dog in some ways.

I guess the 90s was the decade of the underground briefly bubbling up above ground. I think my copy was actually a promo copy, which I wasn't supposed to have, though many promo copies circulated around East Village CD stores at the time.

I'm not sure it was very good, though the shear audacity of it kind of knocked me out. I saw it again at BAM a few years ago and it is still gloriously unhinged. The production design is still striking. It was definitely a departure for Paul Schrader, one of my favorite filmmakers.
