I agree tho that S.F. bands /were/ innovative. I think especially Dead and Quicksilver, etc. That the association with the psychedelic public experiments, and the arts activists was probably the first rock to be out front that way. Shwew!

The Arab-Andalusian musical traditions are art music traditions that date back to the Islamic period in Spain. Practitioners of these traditions left Spain and carried on the traditions across North Africa in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia (and I think Libya too).
