I think this is the first time I’ve seen anyone play stockhausen on wfmu. Thanks for this! I’ve actually been listening to stockhausen more than usual recently, although it’s only been aus den sieben tagen. It’s like 7 hours long so it pretty much satisfies any stockhausen needs I might have lol

And I'm gonna play as much of it as I can today. So pardon me if you've heard some of these records before - they're my favorite records on one of my favorite labels, Kagel, Koenig, Reihn, Kayn, Ferrari - probably can't fit em all in one show, but still gonna try.

It's kind of interesting that they cut Lydia dying in a fire out of fears that her continuing on with the Maitlands in the afterlife would be interpreted by teens as making suicide inviting...I would think the depiction of all the people in the afterlife going on in the shape they died would be the argument for suicide (also would that have made Lydia all burned up as a ghost?)

This guy was known more as a conductor than a composer, I think. Whatever the case, this is the only electro-acoustic composition attributed to him, as far as I know. If there’s more stuff like this that he (or anybody) did, I would love to hear it!
