I'm basically the oldest possible Millennial (or youngest possible GenX). My interest comes from playing with older folks: they'd sometimes pull out songs from their younger days and I learned to play along instead of staring at them blankly. What I like about Retro Obscuro is that it destroys notions of what "older" music was like. It was just as weird and strange as soundcloud or bandcamp today.

I got into “oldies” at a young age, to escape from the popular kiddie Disney music, I became obsessed, however, the so called oldies station played only mid 60s-80s! It wasn’t until I went to a 50s conference when I was about 9 that I learned there was a station around me that played ‘50s and real oldies music. Sadly they stopped playing the ‘50s on that station years ago, so I supplement that with Internet and especially This show!

I was BLESSED from age 5 with a great oldies station outta MPLS, MN. KOOL 107.9 played great 50's & 60's classic rock 'n roll. I hate how "classic rock" crept into those stations.
