Red used to be the conductor on the Far Rockaway LIRR line for a number of years so we knew each other for years as fellow Mets fans but only later after we met in person in a soul music context did we realize we’d known each other much longer than we’d realized.

Ultradamno—YES—Mt Hope transmitter is down today so we can’t listen on Frequency Modulation as the FCC intended, however we have the stream which is solid. Glad we’ve got backup: it’s like FineWine has a backup DJ who has the same 45s & can take over at random.

That is a shame, such a source of knowledge. I was unaware that he passed away. Looking right now at the OV Wright Memorial Fund card he gave me at a show in Brooklyn many years ago. Last time I saw him was on Canal St streetcar during Jazzfest a few years back.
