He was particularly interested in the DK shirt I was wearing. It was apparently a bootleg, and he wanted to know where I bought it. It was a shop on the Wildwood boardwalk that ended up closing and reopening under different ownership. Boardwalk Mall, second floor. That was my #1 goto place for shirts when I was at the beach.

This reminds me - Clay Pigeon unlocked a memory I never thought I'd fully access. There was a song that in my head was the soundtrack of all of my WW boardwalk nostalgia, but I never know what it was, so for decades the same little piece of chorus lived in my head, and that's all I knew.
Then one day he played "Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight" by Lime, and I FINALLY had a name for the song.
That was a bizarre, surreal moment.
