Yes, Swallow lived up there in West Marin for a while around that time. One of his best-known compositions is "Hullo Bolinas," Bolinas being a little town in Marin County. I think he met the poet Robert Creeley while living in West Marin and they later collaborated.

While Swallow lived in the Bay Area he played in a trio with pianist Art Lande and drummer Glen Cronkhite. I don't think they ever recorded, but I heard them in person a few times - magical!

One of the employees there has a mindboggling collection of vintage player pianos, clocks, typewriters, etc. Ask if it's open next time you're there.
