We don't speak in monotones generally. & there's certainly Rhythm. Poetry is Words that aren't logical & literal - like 'Cold Fire' for example. But then - yeah - there's the pure Sound. & Voice is far from being only about Words anyhow... Let along Music generally. Early REM where you had no idea was great.
