	8:22pm Dean: Do you not like spicy, Wendy? I was at a Thai restaurant recently that offered degrees of spiciness ranging from "not spicy" to "extremely spicy" and at top, "Thai spicy." I opted for "extremely." It wasn't that hot. Once, at an Indian restaurant, I ordered 10 on a 1-10 scale. The server said, "We'll give you 11." It was pretty friggin' hot.
	8:23pm Dean: My daughter just fed me the last two pieces of sushi from her dinner tonight. I iced them in wasabi and pickled ginger. So good.

	🥁 ♥ 8:25pm Wendy del Formaggio: @Dean: I have an incredibly sensitive palate. I've frightened friends before with my ability to taste minuscule amounts of ingredients in things. I don't mind a little spicy, but I am not a masochist, food- or otherwise. I'd rather not have my taste buds shut down, and I'd rather not be in pain. That said, I do enjoy Guatemalan insanity peppers, but that's just because I like space coyotes and hallucinating.

I ate the cake and said, "Jon-O, is there pineapple in this?" His jaw dropped. "How did you know? Before I baked your cake, I baked one for my mom that had pineapple in it, but I scraped the bowl out really well before mixing yours." Sensitive palate is how I knew.

	8:30pm Dean: You should become a Master Sommelier, then, Wendy. Except for that Indian 11, I don't find spice masochistic. A good, nose-runny curry is heaven. Yeah, Sommelier. Best I've ever managed was a "blind" tasting--I find the whole notion insulting--at a friend's house. We tried the bagged wines, I pointed to one and said, "I dunno, but this is French." It was, and it was the only one not US domestic, which I tend not to enjoy. Whoop de doo.

I opted for "extremely." It wasn't that hot. Once, at an Indian restaurant, I ordered 10 on a 1-10 scale. The server said, "We'll give you 11." It was pretty friggin' hot.

I don't mind a little spicy, but I am not a masochist, food- or otherwise. I'd rather not have my taste buds shut down, and I'd rather not be in pain. That said, I do enjoy Guatemalan insanity peppers, but that's just because I like space coyotes and hallucinating.

Best I've ever managed was a "blind" tasting--I find the whole notion insulting--at a friend's house. We tried the bagged wines, I pointed to one and said, "I dunno, but this is French." It was, and it was the only one not US domestic, which I tend not to enjoy. Whoop de doo.
