Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Artwork By Acclaimed Artist Matthew Brannon.
No other credited party gets a value/status/elevation adjective.

I was treated splendidly by Parisians in 1984, when I visited to hear Les Arts Florissants. I missed a train to a performance in Bergamo, so I visited the LAF HQ in Paris. They took me to lunch and let me watch another ensemble, a trio doing medieval music. Lovely folks.

"Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention did a couple of U.S. concerts last December with English guitarist Adrian Legg. Unknown to the lads, their concert at Calliope House, which had as guest musicians Buck Owens and Holly Near, was secretly recorded and is now sold in underground stores. Not to encourage you, but if you're interested, it goes under the title Pegg Legg Buck and Near's Live in Pittsburgh Pirate CD."
Not exactly kiss and make up.

Loving these 30s selections.
One of these comments is true and one is a lie.

MHLee of the Sheena stream did an interesting Jerry Garcia program this morning: emphasizing the Jug Band music roots of Garcia. No Grateful Dead recordings. One track with Garcia playing with Grisman. All the rest are recordings of songs the GD or predecessor band Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions are documented to have performed.
