↳ Song: "It Tolls For Thee" by "PIG"
I believe this, his first album, isn't being reissued because this track samples both Carl Orff and Metallica. Just me surmising... Always wanted to play it on the radio.

Tuned in for a bit until I head home from work.

I hope you don't regret it! There's no accounting for taste! You must be lucky to be able to listen to freeform radio at work!

I couldn't survive working in an office without headphones.

I had a security job, 12 hours days, easy to get overtime, and I transferred to a place that would let me have a bluetooth earpiece and look like a Secret Service agent... so I would be listening to music while people thought it was some additional walkie-talkie situation. It was in a federal building with federal security in addition to hired outside security.

I ride the volume button. There are lots of times that I can't hear the DJ if someone else is near my desk or the phone rings.
Avatar 3:13pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Song: "It's My Life" by "Wendy O. Williams"
Wendy O. Williams of The Plasmatics doing an album produced by Gene Simmons, and I guess this is a KISS cover, although I'm not a big fan of KISS. Love this record, so much hair metal/glam metal/whatever falls short of this record to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm

I saw 999 around 1981.

That's a great bit of serendipity! And cool there is an office dog. I was at an acupuncturist and got to spend time with a chihuahua named Rocco the other day.

I think it’s funny Arvo that your other station doesn’t consider poetry to be “entertainment.” Well then, what is it?!

↳ Song: "Wings of a Dove" by "Millie"
Millie Small doing a Marley song or was it a Lee Perry tune? Guess I can look it up.
Avatar 3:56pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Mr Fab @3:51
I guess I was supposed to find something "educational" but I didn't feel like it! I used to just play Japanese game shows that resembled Jeopardy! off of youtube, but it had weird pranks and sound effects, stuff like that. They have more square material for us to use, but I was never one to grok to that.
Avatar 3:57pm

Famous for "My Boy Lollipop", that's about all I know about her without cheating, to be honest. From a greatest hits thingie.
Avatar 3:57pm

↳ Song: "En Ellos Creo" by "Sola"
Great album from Mexico, 1974ish.
Avatar 4:00pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Song: "Put Me In Jail" by "Sunny & The Sunliners"
One of my favorite Latin soul groups. This particular single I bought for $5 on Ebay, but people constantly try to sell it for insane amounts.

I once had a dream where I wrote an entire surrealist film based on this song. I still might have the rough notes upon waking, in a notebook somewhere.

"Wings of a Dove" is one of those Carib standards that's been recorded by so many, I wonder if it's an "author unknown" folk song.

↳ Song: "Life Fades Away" by "Roy Orbison"
Written by Danzig!
Avatar 4:14pm

↳ Song: "Little Bitty Tear" by "Burl Ives"
Famously featured in Quentin Tarantino-adjacent film "True Romance", the song is actually in the screenplay.
Avatar 4:16pm
Arvo Zylo:

It is leading up to an epic Bob Dylan cover by non-white men! Among other things!
Avatar 4:18pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Song: "Long Black Limousin" by "Glen Campbell"
This one time I binged The Grateful Dead for 4 days straight on streaming services, and I hated almost every minute of it. They did cover this song, though, and it was nice to discover it, this being my preferred version to listen to.
Avatar 4:20pm
Arvo Zylo:

I generally find a lot of folk music irritating, including Bob Dylan, but there are exceptions. That little segment was what I liked when I was listening.
Avatar 4:24pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Arvo Zylo @4:20
haha, same here. When i saw names like Jim Croce i was like, "uh oh." But there's sometimes cool stuff hidden away.
Avatar 4:26pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Mr Fab @4:24
I really get into "deep cuts", as they call them, so I listen to a lot of stuff that I generally wouldn't otherwise.

"The Blizzard" was a great little song about tragic death that I thought was worth including. I have always been curious what else he did other than "Don't Mess Around With Jim" etc.
Avatar 4:27pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Song: "Masters of War" by "The Staple Singers"
Featured in the recent film, "The Bikeriders", which has very little to do with the actual contents of the book it is based on, and was filmed in Cincinatti, despite the film being set in the Chicago area. Chicago famously doesn't make it easy to film there, in terms of taxes and whatnot.
👻 Swag For Life Member 4:29pm

Pops Staples doing the lead vocal?

↳ Song: "No Gold Teeth" by "Danger Mouse & Black Thought"
IF I ever do a hip hop set, it would have an insane freestyle that Black Thought did on some show like Jimmy Kimmel or whoever. He is incredible.

He is a member of The Roots, they are pretty popular if you haven't heard of them. Somewhat adventurous, as they are one of the rare hip hop outfits to use a live band since the 90s.

Hugely famous in Brazil, has her own children's television enterprise.

Yes, and this song was written by the person who wrote the theme to Rocky & Bullwinkle, the cover version went unreleased for thirty years...
