I got to see Shane Parish perform this live, it was amazing. (No looping.) He was opening for the Orcutt Guitar Quartet but his set was the highlight of the evening. This whole LP is highly recommended, great technique and great choice of covers.

Poor Allison had quite a struggle getting respect from the Bluegrass Old Guard. I remember seeing her at Merlefest in NC around the turn of the century with Doc Watson, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, eta al and it was discovered they were calling her Miss Piggy backstage.

Oh yeah, grab it if you see it (actually I think they did two, so maybe another out there for me to find). One of the things that makes it fun is the choir teacher guy, who looks a bit like Bob Odenkirk, sorta takes over the proceedings on a few songs, like, "ok, buddy, I don't think the Immaculata parents were paying for you to cut a demo with their daughters as your backing group". But it is a fun record; kind of a silly concept but it came out quite listenable.
