Greetings, Wrecking Crew! It's chilly and rainy here at the Bellows Falls Yacht Club. Just the way I like it! Get comfy with a blanket and some pillows in the indoor lounge. Cabin boys are brewing tea right now. The show will begin in a few minutes.

The trick to rolling r's is to NOT use the tongue muscles to move the tip of the tongue. Instead, allow the tip of the tongue to flutter in the wind tunnel of your mouth as you force the air between your tongue and roof of mouth.

I have upstairs records, and downstairs records. They are alpha by artist, then chronological by release date. Records rarely move between upstairs and downstairs.

CDs are organized into binders. I kept them organized alpha by artist then chronological, up until the last binder. When a binder filled up, I reshuffled the CDs within that binder to be alpha by artist then chronological within that binder (I rarely moved a CD between binders). The last binder filled up around 2009, I never reshuffled it into order, and I mostly stopped buying CDs around that time. I have one CD shelf that holds CDs from people I personally know, and CDs that I love too much to put into a binder.

There's a box of cassette tapes, somewhere. Mostly mixtapes. The rest of my cassettes died in a run-of-the-mill Houston flood in 2001.

One benefit of having CDs in binders is that I can pretty easily revisit what I was listening to in a particular time by going to the binder for that time period.

Filing system is ad hoc in some respects. Genres filed by artist, then chronological series of releases, but this doesn't work well for classical, which is frankly not well-organized. ("I know I have that complete Bartok string quartets recording...") I segregate vocal recitals, filed by vocalist. Rock, jazz, and classical all have various artist sections. Finally, there's a range of musics from far and wide that isn't already captured by the genre sections. So, for example, Turkish Village Music. I've had to file the bigger boxes on top of the shelves.
