	11:08pm laurapanic: my daughter is a huge Newcastle Jets fan (our club) and we go to every game, travel to see them sometimes etc. She isn't in school (for reasons) and this is how she connects with the world. I love it. She is great ot go to games, with, we sit in almost silence, watching the games. But its our connection. Its special. <end tiny story>

So this teacher, ran a tap program in the school, all these kids who would never have access to dance, suddenly were in a tap group. And because it was rooted in TAP DOGS, the boys were engaged to participate. This teacher was great (He is in the TAP DOGS movie). So my kid, who would NEVER do this, ended up in top hat and sequined tails on a big stage as part of a state school tap group. Sure he was up the back, and about 3 beats behind the choreo, but he was THERE and smiling. I'm teary thinking about it. I bawled watching him.

So this teacher, ran a tap program in the school, all these kids who would never have access to dance, suddenly were in a tap group. And because it was rooted in TAP DOGS, the boys were engaged to participate. This teacher was great (He is in the TAP DOGS movie). So my kid, who would NEVER do this, ended up in top hat and sequined tails on a big stage as part of a state school tap group. Sure he was up the back, and about 3 beats behind the choreo, but he was THERE and smiling. I'm teary thinking about it. I bawled watching him.
