How can I never have heard this Dexys tune? Delightful, and I only know the hits —the college radio one that name dropped Brendan Behan, and the huge one that seemed to doom them to one hit wonder status, at least in the States.

Such a great song by an underrecognized band (not for all). Was anyone more snotty-punk looking than the young Howard Devoto?

Dammit, now I feel like I have to actually listen to entire Dexys albums sometime to find out if there was anything else on them i missed. Aren’t there only 2 or 3? Any recommendations from actual fans beyond “Eileen”?

What will it take to send me down the RT/LT rabbit hole? Highly aware of them for a long time, just never took the leap to dig in. It should move higher on my list of stuff that I might really enjoy but haven't got around to yet.

Just turned the tv on for an update: Still more Olympics. Only it’s Johnny C & Ed McM talking about them, with David Steinberg, which leads me to surmise that we the Happily Left Behind (HLB) have been catapulted back in time to Aug 23, 1991, if the guide on my tv is still accurate in the demise of the space-time continuum. But this is just a hunch so far.
