Not all cats like to play of course, but I've had cats wonder into the house just to check it out (backdoor was open) and then sit at the front door and mew to "open the door" so they can leave. When I opened the door the owner of the cat just walked by and gave me e funny look. "Honest, she was just visiting!"

Oh it gets worse. He smashed a bottle outside my house and called the poice to say I glassed him...this is like 2am on a work night, I had no idea what was going on. Then he called the poice anther time to say I was threatening him with a samuri sword....I was in work.
The plice nearly kicked my door down until my decent neighbours talked him down.......this ws also after he smeared poop all over my door and windows. We had to place a restraining order

I used to play shows at Franks Basement. Cliff side park NJ. Played with Bernie's fix IDK booked all natural lemon and lime flavors there maybe with the fiends?!?! They kept beer and ice in the sink. They peed in same sink. I have some live recordings on peed on cassette tapes. Frank's was an abandoned apartment. The basement was tight and closraphobic. The pipes would sweat.

I've had some bad situations, but the worst apartment was in a house that shook whenever the kid on the second floor ran back and forth screaming his head off for hours. My tabletop flat screen TV wobbled too. I was there when Hurricane Sandy hit. I had my cat Joe in a carrier in case we had to run down to the basement which I dreaded because it was packed with stuff. My second worse apartment had a drop ceiling in the bathroom that would leak every time the floor above flushed the toilet. The super didn't believe me until he came to look at it and the water flower down on his head. Seems the upstairs toilet was not connected to the floor. It was like a rocking horse the moved side to side.

I had a psycho housemate in the 90s who walked around naked. Sometimes he would scream about killing people. I caught him holding my cat Nico in the kitchen. I firmly told him to put her down and he did. I moved out soon after that. He was later evicted and fought with six sheriff deputies. Somehow he gave out my telephone number to his creditors. A real nightmare.

Otherwise, the apartment itself was okay. It was more a matter of the crappy neighbors.

When I first moved in, the guys who should have turned on electricity didn't show up. The next day a big storm hit, so I ended up waiting a couple of months for electricity, while paying full rent *and* electric bills (I eventually got a refund for that, but it took several more months). I basically camped for a couple of months

Earlier this year, construction work knocked out the water supply to my building. Luckily, I was up and ready before then and was going to a festival anyway. Some crew worked on it through the night (think jackhammers all night) and I did get water late the next day, but with sand in it so I had to boil it and it fucked up a lot of stuff (still not repaired). I was lucky to be on the second floor, there was not enough pressure for water to reach the higher floors. City hall delivered water bottles to them (a good move from a very right wing administration). I didn't realize how much I took water access for granted until I lost it (made me think about how many people don't have that)
