Hello, all! Does anyone recognize today's mystery LP-under-the-cassettes?
  11:48am

I recognize it, but that's because I visited your playlist earlier today. If I had to guess the album, I'd say The Monkees' first.

Nope, this album was not made by monkeys. (Hiya, Dean!)

Primates, huh? That narrows the field quite a bit.

The band's biggest hit was "Rhythm of the Rain", recorded in 1962. This LP, from 1968, was their attempt to go psychedelic (sort of).

Sidecar rings a bell but perhaps there were more than one band with that name.
Unfortunately, I was so out of the loop throughout much of the nineties, local music wise, being fully immersed in child raising, school and terrible jobs.

In the Missoula Independent, Sept. 28, 2000, a review of The Fucking Champs concludes, "And, in the liner notes to III, the erstwhile [4AM 95 actually thank The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl and Rictus of Cruel Malignance. I don't even know what that is. I just know it's cool."

This is encouraging! I can also confirm that Seattle city government has in the past been very responsive and helpful to requests I've made of them. Years ago, when I paid a nanny, I had to deal routinely with California's EDD and the federal IRS. Both agencies were entirely effective.

I was accused of eating a squirrel out of the shared college house freezer about 25 years ago. They thought I came home drunk, thawed out the squirrel and cooked it. If they really knew me, they would know that when drunk that is far too much work. I ran into my fellow housemates at a funeral (unfortunately for a former housemate) last year and the squirrel thing came up again. Again, I had no dining relationships with that squirrel!

Per wiki: "Presley's fondness for peanut butter and banana sandwiches is well established; however, bacon is not mentioned in all accounts.[7] A book about Presley and his mother, Gladys Presley, though, says he had "sandwich after sandwich of his favorite—peanut butter, sliced bananas, and crisp bacon". Another passage describes him talking "feverishly until dawn" while "wolfing" down the sandwiches (described in this instance as being made with mashed banana).[8]

A news report suggests that, based on renditions of sandwiches named after him, Presley ate his with caramelized bananas and crispy bacon on grilled Hawaiian bread, and grilled by his mother or his cook in bacon fat."

↳ Song: "Fur Is Good, Grow Your Own" by "Kingdom Scum"
