From London. "Creation Rebel was the backing group for the late Reggae great, Prince Far-I.
The album title refers to former British Prime Minister Theresa May’s controversial policy towards asylum seekers, and the recent Windrush scandal, all too relevant to a group of musicians of Jamaican origin who have spent their whole lives operating in the darkening shadow of a former colonial power with a staggeringly short memory for historic wrongs."

Really? Did not know, will research. Also I'll never forget one particularly hot summer I went grocery shopping and outside of my Key Food, they had JUST gotten a shipment of some of the first watermelons of the season. This dude in a string top was standing over a case of watermelon and a tray of ice, with a shrink wrap roll next to him. The idea was to wedge up the melons, wrap em, and put wedges in ice. BUT as people walked into the supermarket, they had to go right past him, and people were just putting their hands out for a freshly cut and wrapped wedge. It was very good watermelon.

The problem with a lot of "fake burgers" is the obscene amount of sodium in them, as well as other oils/stabilizers/etc. OTOH I do love a good home made from scratch veggie burger; that will probably be the fate of the end of a batch of cooked brown beans in my fridge.

The children operating my local coffee shop have good taste in music (Wilco, Sonic Youth, 80’s new wave, 90’s -2000’s alternative). They’re also very nice and they make a good espresso.

I went to Creem Magazine's Summer Sunburn and was disappointed that a lot of the crowd didn't "get" my WoofMoo shirt. OTOH the working crew there gave me the thumbs up! I felt old.

luv n haight was the b-side to family affair. i got that 45, back then, for xmas, then again for my birthday a month later.
i was fortunate to have a kleptomaniac older sister with a bad memory. i doubt she had a clue what the 2 songs sounded like; but it turned me on at a young age

It's a Jess Franco, the master of bonkers low budget Euro trash masterpieces. I've seen about 30 or 40 his films, and that's only a fraction of his oeuvre. He was the Sun Ra of his discipline in terms of output.

The story of its star Soledad Miranda is fascinating, weird and sad.

Yup! I got there too late to get one of the free limited edition of 50 Boy Howdy beer cans. I DID get a free preroll from another sponsor! Oddly enough, another sponsor was...a pickle company. So breakfast was beer, a mini pizza with pickles on it, and a joint.
