The one I like to share (and maybe have shared here already) is: we were talking about how good the song "Up On The Roof" is and he said the best version of it is the one by James Taylor. I asked why he thought that, and he explained the ways in which Taylor had altered and added to the chord progression; it was a barrage of technical information I couldn't follow. Though when I listened to the song I think I understood what he was talking about.

This weekend the Crescent City Connection remembers a local legend of New Orleans, the great George French, who passed away in August at the age of 81. French was a first call session bassist who worked with Fats Domino, Earl King, Chuck Berry, and many others. And as a singer, his smooth and soulful vocals made him a favorite of NOLA musicians and music fans alike. We'll hear an hour of his artistry, Saturday morning at 10am on the Rock'n'Soul stream.

The one I like to share (and maybe have shared here already) is: we were talking about how good the song "Up On The Roof" is and he said the best version of it is the one by James Taylor. I asked why he thought that, and he explained the ways in which Taylor had altered and added to the chord progression; it was a barrage of technical information I couldn't follow. Though when I listened to the song I think I understood what he was talking about.
