Alvvays: It was the last date of their 2 yr tour, very tight, no new material
Mitski: Musically excellent. Stage "show" was just strange. Apparently teenage girls are her new target audience. Has made the transition from damaged art school girl to what my son described as "a 45 year old failed dancer" (she's 32).
Old 97s: Most excellent show. They were playing the 9:30 club in DC for the 30th straight year with the same lineup. Did a nice job mixing old and new music. Played like a band that's been playing with the same lineup for over 30 years. Rhett Miller owns the stage
John Buffalo: A little odd, but ended up kind of charming. Original vibe was the beginning of the talent show in Napoleon Dynamite, ending vibe was the end of the talent show in Napoleon Dynamite

We saw Savak and the Chris Browkaw Band this weekend, and both were excellent. K8's band opened. And I'm still kind of riding the high from seeing Pulp the weekend before.

I saw Elvis Costello last Saturday. Two and half hour set, great mixture of old and new material, from soft bossa nova one minute, to near-Waitsian bone machine crunch the next.
Next up, Godspeed You! Black Emperor on Sunday.

We're seeing Sprints on Saturday. And then Bug Club 10/15, Slift 10/24, and the Osees 10/25.

I also use my clicky star collection to base social media posts on (largely to promote the station & streams)
