You might recognize this story, if you've heard all the previous Rogue's Gallery episodes. At this point in the run of the show, Rogue's Gallery has moved to a new network, and they were running some of the "classics" again, to see if it would present their "best" qualities. Dick Powell wasn't enjoying it after years and years on the air, so he retired from the role, and it was taken over by Barry Sullivan. That version didn't last long at all.

So yeah, you might recognize this show as the story, "Angela Mullens."

Thanks to WR, who noticed we were hearing "repeats" last week, when I forgot to mention it.

While it was hopefully not noticeable, the original archived version of that episode of Rogue's Gallery was at the wrong speed. In addition to my usual clean-up for that episode, I had to change the speed to make it sound normal. (It was archived at a slower, much more noticable speed. But I couldn't find anyone online who had tried to fix it yet. Hopefully it sounded "normal," which was the goal.)

I was thinking about how radio shows featuring superheroes are sort of like early fanfiction. The people writing these stories had to be familiar with the comics, enough so they didn't anger fans, but creative enough to take advantage of radio, and the things those fans enjoy. A lot of radio writers dabbled in other print mediums, and I like the idea that if they couldn't sell the story to comics, that maybe it would work on radio?

I'm having a hard time remembering when the antagonist for an X-Minus One story was a woman. There have been plenty where the men have been down on women, or their wives. But it is rare that a woman is the primary "villain" in a very real way, for one of these stories. I'm sure the actor was excited to not just play another girlfriend of waitress.

Other media's adaptations of comics make me think of the phrase "the tail wags the dog".
E.g., the Superman radio show invented Jimmy Olsen, Perry White and kryptonite. All that was then put into the comics.
Likewise with the Fleischer Brothers' animated theatrical shorts. Not content with a Superman that merely leapt tall buildings in a single bound, they made him defy gravity. Later, Superman started flying in the comics.
I understand that the 1978 movie's characters Eve Teschmacher (Valerie Perrine) and Otis (Ned Beatty) have also entered the comics.

I think you're right. This happens in fanfiction all the time, where stories that become popular in fan circles can occasionally become canon in future iterations of the property. I think Superman is particularly noticeable because we can see the progression across media, since so many people love that character. It's less obvious for people like The Blue Beetle.
