This week really sucks. Yet the one thing that always endures is people caring for animals. That's always free of corruption.

Per the cats watching birds and whether its real to them or like a video game... it depends on the cat. Let's just face the facts, like people, some cats are very smart, and others are dumb as a peanut on Neptune. Some cats are dumb enough to believe the hype, others just think it's fun.
My old boy who left a while ago had a favorite music video, Winter In July by Bomb The Bass. Not a great song or video, but the cat loved it so much we used to put it on repeat. That was a cat who loved music, except live drums.

That guy would bring rats the size of pint glasses. And he'd peel them like bananas to "male it easier for me to dig in".
Always just pretended to be grateful, and then when the cat's back was turned, throw it on the medieval pile of rodent corpses.

my first cat loved doing similar with Mockingbirds, when i was little and growing up -- they would always dive-bomb Fuzzy! i saw this often, no wonder he went after them -- but Mockingbirds were my Mom's favorite bird, she was not pleased at all!
slugluv1313:
slugluv1313:
Drunken Creep:
Another cat once came prowling around to make a home in the area. My boy lured it up to the rooftop and threw it off. Yet he was the nicest cat to people.
Made me realize, we're the same way. For example if I notice there's a bluebird peering into my window, I think "Wow, a beautiful bluebird at my window! This is a good day. Life is beautiful! I'll put a bird feeder out"
Yet if there's a person peering through my window, I think "Someone's getting stabbed in the neck!"
We're not so different from the thought processes of cats. I can imagine that cat taking all those mockingbirds to your mom and being baffled as to why she didn't see how awesome it thought it was.

Similarly, when we'd have a truck full of grain right off the combine and plenty of grasshoppers & bugs crawling around, I'd place a chicken up there. Some chickens settled down to feast and some would want to fly back down to earth.
David Shortell:
slugluv1313:
and yeah, my Mom would always lose it! never wanted to hear about how they were attacking him, and how he was trying to impress her, etc.
