My first big arena concert was YES in Providence in 1977. As a bass player I always looked up to Chris. He played such a growly twangy sound with his Rickenbacker. Used a coin as a pick on Roundabout was the rumor.

One album that's great for giving you a feel for odd time signatures is Brubeck's Time Further Out . One side has ascending time signatures for every song. 3/4 through 9/8. This is NOT the album with Take Five BTW

I saw them live too, in a wee, but quite deluxe theater in the basement of an Allentown PA hotel (could easily imagine magicians working there in the 1930s). Just wonderful -- such out there music presented with casual good cheer. Their kick drums kept sliding away from them, but they would always grab them back with grace.
