As far as I’ve understood, the solstice is at the center of a three day period where there is very little difference. Which is why those ancient people built those structures. As they were worried the sun would stand still and never return towards its summer position.

It was an interesting conversation about being an emigrant/immigrant. I can't rmember if it came up, but a fun fact for all here anyway: my last name is Italian, and apparently the way it happened is that King Henry VIII hired some musicians from Milano to improve the music at his court, and my ancestor Ambrose and his son Peter were among them. My best friend's mother even knows where Ambrose was buried in London. His great-great-grandson or something like that moved the the southern American colonies and diffused throughout the south. And this descendent of a viol da gamba player ended up playing banjo.

Okay so my ideal pizza is a NY slice and I like it plain or with black olives. Usually I'll get one plain and one with black olives at the same time but the plain one is actually the treat. If it's good the threes strata, cheese, sauce, and crust become one. Like you can't tell where one ends and the other begins. Has to be pretty hot so it's sketchy getting two slices at once to begin with but I do. Other slices can be fun and Barboncino, my local pie spot, just introduced a white veggie pie that I like but I will always prefer a solid, well cooked NY slice. It's so good.

Cranberries do grow here, but lingonberries are more common. Most of the people who come to pick berries for work are from Asia, and most of the visas were canceled this year because the companies hiring them were suspected of human trafficking. I think the plan is to get a better system in place for next year. But most of the work is for blueberries, cloudberries and lingonberries. Cloudberries are also bog berries, blueberries and lingonberries are in regular forests.

something strange happened to me with those initial smooth jazz notes...it could be good, it could be bad

Could’ve also been different with the late night crowd. I just remember I could only order one or two slices. The banginest food I had in Philly was at this Krishna restaurant. And also in the temple my friend’s family operated. I have to stop thinking about food. There’s nothing here and now in Athens.

I started reading the thing from the bottom up and immediately thought of Lorenzo's - so it must have been that.

Well. I need it now. Also the samosas were like fifty cents apiece back then. Survived off those for a few months. Samosas and kitchari.

I think there might be two Lorenzo’s locations. The one on South Street being the one where it’s only one or two slices. No toppings.

You know you guys. I'm actually very sorry I made you listen to this Christmas smooth jazz. I think I hate it. You guys are nice and deserve better.
