Yes, maturing your Glen Passaic in chemical drums is the best option, as chemicals are fully complementary to the GP flavor profile and stomach-lining-stripping powers, whereas traces of crude oil do not mess with your innards in the same delightful (?) way.

In truth, angels have the most irritating voices imaginable. When they present as female, they sound like a burglar alarm with an intermittent short circuit; as male, like farting through an autotune; and when, as often, polygendered, like Volkswagen bumpers being fed through a wood chipper while a trained seal on meth plays the Star Spangled Banner on a broken melodica. This is why it's so hard for people to heed the better angels of their nature. If you've been unfortunate enough to get buttonholed by an angel, a couple of aspirin, plenty of bedrest, a good buildup of earwax and a stiff Glen Passaic-based cocktail are the suggested remedies.

I quickly met Jim Hall once (told this before, apologies if you've read it). i was taking ill-fated jazz guitar lessons, my teacher had studied with Hall, and we went to see him at the Village Vanguard. He came over between sets, very sweet, lovely guy. He had just recorded with Pat Metheney, and was gushing over what a fabulous guitar player Metheney was.
