That show was weird: because the choreographers were from Israel, they didn't put the country on the posters for "security". But still had logos for sponsors, which included Tel Aviv and another org with the Israeli flag prominent. Stealth fail
I got pulled out of the line for an extra security check, lost my place in the line, but it worked out: got a seat on the middle of the front row because I knew it was mostly solos

hey, coela, yes I love Peter Tosh's songs from that era too. Very poppy. And love his voice. Marley's voice somehow matches his kinda vague lyrics though

true i guess. musically poppy, but lyrically political - while Marley was still singing mostly love songs.
Marley had a Beautiful voice, very smooth and pretty; and i grew to Love the wailers (actually not until after Bob had clocked out -even though i was very into reggae already)
...Tosh's voice seemed very "soulful" to me, kind of tough.

Dean:

Many years ago in preparation for architecture school, which I ultimately declined to attend, I read Kevin Lynch's The Image of the City. I forgot that one of the subject cities is Jersey City, along with Boston and Los Angeles. Here's what Lynch wrote in '59: "What might have been its natural shopping center was stifled by the artificial creation of Journal Square on the upper land, so that the city has no single center, but rather four or five. To the usual formlessness of space and heterogeneity of structure that mark the blighted area of any American city is added the complete confusion of an uncoordinated street system. The drabness, dirt, and smell of the town are at first overpowering. This, of course, is the first superficial view of an outsider. It was interesting to see how those who had lived there for many years imaged it for themselves."

The Lynch book is pretty special. It's now as old as I am, so I'm sure circumstances have changed, per doctorjazz. But as you can tell from the quote, Lynch is not exclusively interested in a "first superficial view."
