Favoriting January 30, 2025: Bob chats with filmmakers Sam & Andrew Zuchero on LOVE ME
Civilization on Earth has ended and all that's left is a buoy and a satellite that attempt to make sense of human connection from the clues gathered on the internet. Tonight we have writer / directors Sam & Andrew Zuchero on the show to discuss their wondrous new film LOVE ME. Then we'll take a look at the bonkers new comedy starring Will Ferrell & Reese Witherspoon coming to Prime Video, YOU'RE CORDIALLY INVITED. The laughs don't stop there as we head to La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts as they present their death defying comedy THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG. All that plus more!

↳ Song: "LATE NIGHT: Fridays (81)" by "Larry David as Howa...
Larry David got some exposure on ABC's "Fridays", but almost NO exposure later on NBC's "Saturday Night Live". WFMU's "Seven Second Delay" host Andy Breckman (who was an SNL writer at the same time) believes that nothing Larry wrote for SNL got used!
Larry wound up using some of his rejected material for "Seinfeld".

This song's references to old TV shows must puzzle many modern listeners.

David, great to see you. Yes, about LD. He did some fun talking heads segments in the SNL Doc series.

Probably but TV in general is not a big priority for the young.

I read about it in the 2005 oral history “Live From New York: The Complete, Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live”.
Remember in “Seinfeld” when George Costanza threw a fit and quit his job, then regretted it and showed up Monday hoping nobody would say anything?
The same thing had happened with Larry David when he got fed up with SNL for underusing him! But whereas showing up didn’t work for George, it DID work for Larry!

I've never seen this. It sounds kind of like "Noises Off".
The play may be good, but I didn't care much for the BBC-TV series it inspired: "The Goes Wrong Show".
