I've never been to New York. I've only been on the east coast twice: once in Virginia / DC area, and once in Florida. (Both are long stories.) I would love to travel, but I just can't afford it.

I haven't finished it, but those early chapters of the Beastie Boys Book, where they talk about NY in the 70's and early 80's, are pretty magical. They make NY sound as dangerous as it was awesome.
