spodiodi:

Roberto,

Trixie is a name that's been on my mind for a long time, and a lot more in recent months.

One of my more serious college relationships was with a girl with a very ordinary name.

Her father used to tease her that he and her mother had almost named her Trixie (as it was very unusual and hinted at being a prostitute's or strippers name, and they were a very straight-laced conservative family for the most part).

Fast forward to a little over a year ago:
While pursuing SSI for my chronic debilitating illness, I've been getting some assistance from State, County, and the City.

My assigned social worker has that name (couldn't believe it at first).

Her last contact with me was in the form of two emails that arrived this morning (and hers were the last two emails that I sent yesterday).

As all of this is related to my not sleeping on the sidewalk (no savings, job, nor investments, no financial help from my family) -- it's been very much on my mind in recent days, especially.

I've had conversations with her on the phone, and many more in my mind
, as my continued survival depends on making sure things are, and continue to be on track with her).

I share with the hope that my story and ridiculous situation provide a chuckle and/or temporary distraction).

{Sorry if I went on too much about myself, etc. I feel for you and know the pain of losing a very dear pet.}

Hoping that was somehow helpful 💟

Really stings (huge disappointment) that today was supposed to be the second of the LOOOONG awaited SSI appointments (that shouldn't have even been scheduled) was CONCELLED!

but hey, they gave me a "heads-up" about it at 10am today... the ppt was supposed to be at 12:30 -- clear across the city (two busses, with my physical and cognitive limitations -- I had one foot out the door as to give myself enough time)...

and wass told that a new appointment was made for APRIL 1 -- crushing. no idea what I'll do ....

so frustrating to see so many people getting help and not getting any myself.

i've been suffeing since last century. i'm amaze that i have been able to make things work as well as i have (everything is completely blown apart and in a state of chaos... ) that's so so so so so much more to the sotry -- sparing you all -- as well as myself . it takes me hours to compose emails --

textingg drive me crazy

as does getting into any kind of discussion here.

i just want to lay down and cry for my mommy, or die. (her fighting breast cancer is what keeps me going, as she has a lot more to deal with)...

but man... even that is wearing thin.

could be worse / everyone has problems, also wearing thin.

i'm just going to fall down.

it's SO frustrating too when people e try to relate (when they don't/ can't understand what it's like having the unfortunate variety of ms that i'm "unlucky" enough to have).

with each passing day the ability to tell my story or communicate at all gets further away
so
so
so
so
frustrating

all right. i'll get back to suffering silently 🙏

A superb, kaleidoscopic album. Different partly because its the only one with Syd Barrett's full involvement, but also a *1967* studio psych classic, much like Sgt. You're right. There were some mono pressings around then, but mostly stereo fold-downs like Stones' Let It Bleed. The Genesis one is a dedicated mono mix, which was very rate by then. Makes sense though, as they had limited amount of tracks available, they had to mix the group down to mono so the extra orchestrations would fit. Those orchestrations are less prominent on the mono version and some of the band members were not exactly fond of them anyway.
