OTOH I DO get to work from home, and there IS no physical office to force me back into. That alone -- no commute, no fucking stupid office drag that needs dry cleaning, no $20 gross hot table lunches, and no loss of time commuting -- put at least another $10K in my pocket, plus all the intangible benefits like being able to work in my skivvies if I want, sleep in later, more flexible hours, etc. Plus I know that I'm fighting against the Bad Guys. Current case is a more escoteric antitrust thing but my last 3 cases were against Google (I PMd that one for 2 years), Amazon, and Facebook. I truly, truly hope that we eventually get a case against Muskrat or similar for his mass firings -- we've worked with the DOJ at both the Federal and State DOJ levels. If there's a chance to strip Musky and the Orange Anus of their assets (we do civil not criminal) I swear I'll find an Adderall hookup and work 72 hours at a time if that's what it takes.

OTOH I DO get to work from home, and there IS no physical office to force me back into. That alone -- no commute, no fucking stupid office drag that needs dry cleaning, no $20 gross hot table lunches, and no loss of time commuting -- put at least another $10K in my pocket, plus all the intangible benefits like being able to work in my skivvies if I want, sleep in later, more flexible hours, etc. Plus I know that I'm fighting against the Bad Guys. Current case is a more escoteric antitrust thing but my last 3 cases were against Google (I PMd that one for 2 years), Amazon, and Facebook. I truly, truly hope that we eventually get a case against Muskrat or similar for his mass firings -- we've worked with the DOJ at both the Federal and State DOJ levels. If there's a chance to strip Musky and the Orange Anus of their assets (we do civil not criminal) I swear I'll find an Adderall hookup and work 72 hours at a time if that's what it takes.
