as great as they are i felt it fell short of the high expectations i had…felt their attack was repetitive not in the most hypnotic way…a little static…did not really soar the way i hear on recordings

i will say that i also brought a friend who had never heard anything from the band and the first thing he said to me as soon as the performance ended was “that was fucking dope!!!” he was totally blown away.
lol so i know he had little to no expectations and loved it. but yeah tom tom i was going in hoping and expecting to really enjoy it..

Buena Vista Social Club has gone to Broadway, thinking about goind.
Thought of going to see ahmed (didn't love stuff of theirs I've heard on FMU, though I do like some stuff Pat Thomas has done. It was more to meet up with all the WFMU folks I'd heard would be there. But, it was a school night...).
