the automobile industry has always been based on the idea of selling an asirational status signalling fantasy. As such it is predicated on hierarchic class stratus differences, and the fantasy of increasing personal and social value as you move up the chain. While this bullshit value system is only one of many things to hate about the auto industry in history and still today, the changes that tesla brings to the story are bigger by, dare I say it, 100X. I doubt that protesting at Tesla will have the desired effect, still worth doing, despite the increase validation of their zeal and delusional purpose the t Rump teslacles will take from it, tesla stock tanking is the best hope - take awa the assholes money and by even his own value system he is nothing

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

No problem, Francky. I thought it was an interesting listen. May you enjoy it.

The immigration process at the time was intense.

Oh yes, intense is perhaps an understatement... from a European perspective (I am a French/Italian living in the UK), we all have stories of ancestors who managed, more or less successfully and more or less painfully, to cross the pond and to settle somewhere in the Americas to make a new lives for themselves...

I wish I knew more of my family's stories. I think there was some writing from my mother's side, but not my father's.

Thinking about that, too, Tom, but it's Mrs. Currents' birthday so I may not be able to. We really liked the exhibit, too. Especially the Memento Mori stuff.
