Curious, that usually happens when there is a non-asci character at the end of the title. Japanese or Russian, for example. Just putting a space character at the end would revive the clicky star. Nothing visible that I would expect to cause the clicky star to be lost. Oh, you fixed it. Could it have been the close parenthesis character? Very unexpected.

Keep in mind that most regular "hifi" stuff from the 1970s does not weigh up in any way to our modern standards. And the electronics often are in state of disrepair. Especially the electrolytic capacitors. And those sometimes are hard to replace.

Hahaa!

Ever heard Conlon Nancarrow? he wrote crazed music for player pianos. Stuff humans couldn't play.

Part of me still thinks The Faith Tones are a very clever hoax, but look them up at Discogs and the amount of different people that apparently have this album...

You can say the same of Miranda Sex Garden..

except for the fact that I have a two hour special on VPRO of them with interviews and live performances and all...

But that record sleeve of the Faith Tones, has a photoshop feel and the recording somehow doesn't sound like 1964

I know they do exist, It's more about their name and the marketing. If they would have been called a more generic name they would not have been so well known.
And indeed the Faith Tones sound like 1948 instead of 1964. Maybe they were very very old-fashioned and low-low budget..

Well in fact for 1948 it sounds to 'good' again. It's stereo and probably a two track-recording and almost as if it's equalized to make it sound older...

I agree about the MSG marketing thing, but I don't blame them...
