April 5, 2025: Pascuala Ilabaca and Fauna
Singer-songwriter Pascuala Ilabaca and her band Fauna perform rousing songs about serious subjects. Her approach is exemplified by her song El Baile del Kkoyaruna: The video for it, which has almost 3 million views, features a deadpan migrant worker walking an endless dusty road while surrounded by carnival dancers. The band joins us to play and we'll talk about their new EP "Poetica Bailable Vol.1" (Danceable Poetics) and more.

Jim Pepper is freaking awesome -- i love Witchi Tai To!
more familiar with the Everything is Everything version -- but i think the first time i ever heard it was a version by Brewer and Shipley when i was a kid in the early 1970s
(and i have no idea why i always thought Jim Pepper was from Alaska! maybe bc he appeared on the "Alaska Hit Singles" compilation??)
