Fingers crossed and stay hydrated! This was my 2nd round with COVID and it really knocked me on my ass much worse than the first time. For the first 72 hours I considered checking myself in to Mount Sinai in Astoria, but I knew that they wouldn't give me what I really needed (powerful cough suppressant and a steroid inhaler) and would probably try to intubate me instead. I figured I'd rather die in my own bed than a hospital bed.

I think what makes the version with Fripp especially poignant, for me at least, is that it's a little threadbare, but I can fill in the gaps from the original studio release. Best of both worlds.

I bought that first solo album on the day it appeared in the shops. Was working at the public library, 1977, took a break to head uptown to a record store that I knew would have it in stock, bought it, and high-tailed it back to work without anybody being the wiser.

She was OK with it-we brought all the food up to her (she prompted us all to have minutes of silence throughout the seder for her absence). Wasn't what she would have wanted (but we had some 80 year old guests who definitely did not want her around). Overall it was very nice (and very exhausting). Thanks for asking!

hmm… i’m not used to the gravity of a seder, not being brought up in the culture…. but was recently studying with a
rabbi and enjoyed it.. but we had sdifferent views on some things and it did not work out...

It's not so much about gravity as it is about a mix of storytelling that hasn't changed in thousands of years with cultural tweaks added over time, family traditions that evolved out of those, etc. Even most Reform Jews could probably do a reasonable seder from memory only after a certain age, which is part of the point. :)

Interestingly, the office firewall doesn't block the pop-up if I put on an archive show (which is how I listen to them in the office). I never use the 128k MP3 for the archive shows, don't like it (actually, I do sometimes at home through a 3rd party music player, JRiver).
