I'll say it right now - Lowrey's song with Cracker (Track 69) "Euro Trash Girl" is one of the best songs of the 90's. A tidbit from the 90's: There was and I guess still is a restaurant on Newbury Street Boston called Sonsie that had open-air seating and would play music...and that area was frequented by a lot of the Euro students and whatnot, too much money and attitude and all that. And whoever ran the music playlist at Sonsie had Euro Trash Girl on very heavy rotation, so when you walked by chances are you'd hear it. I always thought that was hilarious when you had actual Euro Trash Girls walking by...anyway, I hope that doesn't offend anyone but I thought it was a nice touch from the folks at Sonsie.

The owners of the traditional Happy Birthday song, for some time, were, unfortunately, demanding royalties from restaurants.
This ended several years ago as the copyright ran out and the song went into public domain.
These restaurants are free to sing "Happy Birthday", today.

Schulz was a Jazz fan and particularly a Brubeck fan (remember how incredibly popular Brubeck was at the time, Take Five had enjoyed maybe the greatest crossover success of any “trad Jazz” album ever.) When they couldn’t get Brubeck, they were looking around and someone told them about this young Brubeck-type Vince Guaraldi.
Schulz made all of these decisions himself: about how the animation would be done, how the characters would move, that actual children should do the voices, and what the music should be. One of the more spectacular successes by a creator in one medium moving his creations into another medium.

Billy Zoom and Eddie Van Halen were among the best at the one-guitar part playing.

I love the EC, and it's an established fact they NEVER heard "Elenore" prior to recording this!

This song is catchy, but skirting just around the edge of plagiarism.

I caught X some years back and was absolutely transfixed watching the seated Billy Zoom.

I don't want this to sound like a criticism, but it makes you really appreciate how great of a drummer Johnny Barbata was on the original Turtles records...he had an amazing sound and feel on the snare especially.

barbata was fantastic, but there was nothing wrong with the original turtles drummer, either

Billy Zoom is one of the most underrated guitarists, he was a monster of a player and had that incredible Gretsch tone to compliment those crazy parts he came up with.

Nobody refers to this by its proper name. It's just known as the Peanuts theme--or worse, these days, as "the Charlie Brown song".
