Spinning Wheel just reminded of a humorous episode from 2016. Long story short, if you ever go to the Reno Room in Long Beach, CA *do not play Spinning Wheel on the jukebox!*
I've seen two 70 year old drunks get in a fist fight over that song. At 6:30AM. The fight spilled out on to the sidewalk. One old drunk warned the other old drunk not to play Spinning Wheel. The guy didn't like the horns and the "circus music". The other drunk just couldn't help himself.
Did I mention it was 6:30 in the morning? Fun times.

I have to chime in with a correction here. This wasn't Sidro but Tom Clay doing a medley of Mac Park (so, we did get one) & This Guy's in Love With You. Tom was a once famous DJ who was busted for payola with Alan Freed.

When I moved to Venice Beach in 93, there was another maniac that worked the boardwalk and Main Street. He wore all black and had big platform boots with metal plates and rivets all over. And a bunch of wires and tubes wrapped around his arms and legs. He walked around with an electric guitar playing blistering thrash riffs through a little amp mounted on his back. He was some sort of cyborg-thrash-human hybrid.
