Sorry I tuned in too late to hear I Wanna Be Your Dog. I had The Stooges first album on vinyl when it first came out in 1969. (I was in Middle School at the time.) A few days ago I was sitting in a cafe looking out the window. Two young girls walked by - they could not have been much older than highschool (16 - 17 years old). One was wearing a Stooges tee shirt (image of first album cover) and the other had a Ramones tee shirt. These girls were really ahead of (or behind) their time! I ran out to tell them that I was an original Stooges fan and that I'd heard the Ramones live several times. They were impressed (or I'd like to think so.) I also remembered to tell them to listen to WFMU.

I'm sorry, but you are completely ignorant and a perfect example of why the country is such a mess. The librarian was fired based on a totally false claim of lending "inappropriate" material to children when she never lent anything to anyone because that wasn't her job or roll. That would be like the burger flipper being fired because the boss didn't like the way he prepared lobster.

BTW...in addition to great music, I was happy to stumble upon that really interesting link on FMU's current home page for the piece "Tuning Out the Algorithm at WFMU,” ...in the latest issue of Jacobin.

I'd never heard of that interesting publication...so once again WFMU...Thanks for the introduction!!!

What animates DC is unseen by most people. You comfort yourself by broadcasting your random suppositions to what you think is an agreeable audience, most of whom never read let alone comment. If your show were mostly that type of content your listeners would part with you. Like was said above, 'the fad is over'.

Greetings all. Great show Todd. So, what's the deal with these people supporting fascism? We have in fact lost our so-called democracy. It's so absurd what's going on. It certainly appears that the folks at the Heritage Foundation, Steve Miller, et al, are using *rump as a puppet. His own agenda is just to make money and not pay people anything.

Charlie and Ira's father was a horrendous human being and I'm sure that didn't help matters any but it is also good to try and evolve. But after reading about their dad I did have some compassion for Charlie's awfulness.

For those concerned about the ascendency of proto-facism I recommend reading The Rise of Illiberalism by Thomas Main. It was written before Trump's second presidency but it is very prescient about all the issues mentioned on the comments board and more. You can find the opening chapter on Google Books. For full disclosure I'll mention Prof. Main is my brother.

Let's talk about that. When will a farm bill ever pass again? Not as long as Commodity Credit remains a slush fund for grain farmers (especially soybean) who voted in their former growers association chair to run the FSA.
Who thinks they aren't expecting floods of relief money again, exactly like when Trump kicked off a China trade war last time?
