I'm as much of a movie freak as a music freak. I don't mind watching films on streaming, but I've seen some unwatchable, murky versions on different channels. I got an all region player because there are some films that are only available in other countries. A plus is that all dvd/blu ray players also play cds, the format of the future.

I was about to recommend Cul-de-Sac (1966) heartily to the open minded artsier film appreciates. It usta be one of Polanski’s most underrated films (yet it’s really been re-appreciated more recently). Let alone the great noir-adjacent story & fun performances, it’s worth it for the scenery (filmed at incredible Lindisfarne Castle, Holy Island, England). So Gooood! 👏

↳ Song: "New York City Song" by "Tanya Tucker"
The sad thing sbout songs like this is that the protagonists think Midtown and Downtown Manhattan = NYC. Tanya might have found what she was looking for north of 96th St., or in any other borough, including people who love barbecue, homebrew, songs that tell stories, etc.

There have been flocks of young not-fully-fledged Canadian geese & their "pilots" wandering back & forth drinking from a nearby fountain...& their mission is to be fully self-reliant by autumn...or else.

Seeing that occasionally in the downtown locale of a biggish city certainly does bring home the varying evolutionary cycles all around us...

Speaking of the Yardbirds, the new Led Zep doc is streaming in Netflix as of today. Not a huge Led Zeppelin fan, but I think the film covers some of the pre-LZ days of the band members, so I am hoping for some Yardbirds clips.
