Re Tom Zé: considering he’s a National Treasure of Brazil 🇧🇷, why is it that many of his albums are self-released & not distributed broadly?! They often sellout quickly even via online ordering.
- “it’s a crime, I tell yas, a crime”. I realize he’s an eccentric/iconoclast, & perhaps prefers producing products without any interferences. Yet some of his music gets costly fast.
Luckily, we have the streaming.

this was my gateway Ornette! album. as a 16 year old I was hearing the “electric” Miles & Mahavishnu with excitement. So what’s the deal with “Of Human Feelings” (released in 1982) still not getting any remastering (imo, needed!) or barely reissue (only in Japan) all these years later? Is it that ‘Antilles’ label issue? Shouldn’t it be available via ‘Verve’? Imo, It’s one of the tightest & concise & hottest representations of the peak Prime Time period. Curious, Stork - what ‘product’ did you utilize for that cut = sounded good!

Indeed, so Discogs indicates a Japanese only CD issue 1985 (that would set me back abt $70+), & then the reissue from 1996 (also Japan only) might cost approx $100+! = ouch. So you have a valuable Japanese’s CD issue(?!). I still have the vinyl, imo, needs a better mixing remaster, as my copy always sounded “thin” & perhaps not warm enough. still Curios what source Stork played for broadcast.

I haven't put the LP on the turntable in a while (it came out before the audiophile bug hit me, sound quality wasn't of such importance to me, could listen to 20s King Oliver or 70s recording without having sound quality interfere with my enjoyment (in a way, that's a sad part of developing an audiophile attitude, I'm more quickly annoyed by sound quality variations than I was early on).

On the other hand, a great sounding of a fine performance played on a high end rig can give one goosebumps...

With my MAma, we took in a Red Sox-Blue Jays game. Notes:
- Fenway is a beautiful, historic ballpark with painfully tight seats. People were smaller back then.
- Ushers now shush drunk fans who start bellowing YANKEES SUCK with no Yankees in sight. The times they are a-something.
- The Blue Jays fell to the Sox 15-1. You'd have thought they were the Mets.
- Speaking of Mets, why don't we have ballpark organ like they do in Boston?
- No kraut to go with the rout on those Kayem Fenway Franks.
- I had a margarita so acidic I could've sworn it was made with Glen Passaic, but the little I spilled failed to eat through the bleachers, so no.

The 1980 refers to Sakamoto's release, I missed hearing this recording so have no idea if the French musicians are referencing the composition or if they sampled/ remixed Sakamoto's into their rec. The whole Asynchrone album is Sakamoto' compositions.
