" which would lead to her juggling of machetes this was in 1991, 1992! i was also working at Sideshows by the Seashore at Coney Island (when we were still on the Boardwalk!) maybe we did not have the language that exists today, but it was just a given that one's "identity" would be respected . . . i was so spoiled! 😺😺

So while l could I suppose lay claim to queerness, it's always seemed like that would be a form of stolen valor, claiming membership in a group subject to dangers and mistreatment I just don't experience. (which was a major issue a lot of us had with pornography, mainstream advertising, etc. at the time) . . . AND even more daunting, when i was remembering that other languages had "masculine" and "feminine" nouns -- my brain was having a total meltdown, hah!

	♥ 2:19am slugluv1313: i remember "The Christine Jorgensen Story" when i was a kid, but i did not know what all the controversy was about however, i DID read Jan Morris ' "Conundrum" when it was published in 1974 (i wonder how many other 15 year olds also read it then?) what impressed me then (and now) was not that, as a boy of 3 or 4, he did not have this lightning bolt revelation, but was just playing (under his family's piano, I think?).and just kinda realized that he was supposed to be a girl . . . could not do anything about it until decades later, and even then, unbelievable obstacles . . . fast forward to now, and famous people with no scientific, medical, psychiatric, etc. background screaming on social media, "no child is born in the wrong body!", "God doesn't make mistakes!", etc. -- and the scientists, medical doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, etc. involved in "gender affirming care" do not have time to respond to this ignorant crap bc they are too busy DOING THE FUCKING WORK to make sure that children are getting proper care, and NOT being "mutilated," using illegal/black market hormones, etc.

	♥ 2:19am slugluv1313: i remember "The Christine Jorgensen Story" when i was a kid, but i did not know what all the controversy was about however, i DID read Jan Morris ' "Conundrum" when it was published in 1974 (i wonder how many other 15 year olds also read it then?) what impressed me then (and now) was not that, as a boy of 3 or 4, he did not have this lightning bolt revelation, but was just playing (under his family's piano, I think?).and just kinda realized that he was supposed to be a girl . . . could not do anything about it until decades later, and even then, unbelievable obstacles . . . fast forward to now, and famous people with no scientific, medical, psychiatric, etc. background screaming on social media, "no child is born in the wrong body!", "God doesn't make mistakes!", etc. -- and the scientists, medical doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, etc. involved in "gender affirming care" do not have time to respond to this ignorant crap bc they are too busy DOING THE FUCKING WORK to make sure that children are getting proper care, and NOT being "mutilated," using illegal/black market hormones, etc.

There are certainly political and societal aspects that need to work themselves out and we may be exposed to more hate because of the internet but the world I see now is way better then the one I grew up in.
