WFMU’s homepage and streaming archive player both broke on July 3rd, and remain broken now. Please go to this address in order to reach WFMU’s live streams and playlist and chat pages: Freeform.wfmu.org again, that new web address is freeform.wfmu.org We are working to fix out archive player, but in the meantime, all of our archives still work normally from our three mobile apps – “WFMU Radio” and the “WFMU Archive Bunker” in the Apple iTunes App Store, and the “Woof Moo Player” in the Google Play store. Sorry for this outage! Our IT team is working round the clock trying to get things back to what passes as “normal” at WFMU.

The latest from Rev. Stang: " I can’t believe it’s two days before X-Day and I’m not standing in the road at Wisteria or some other campground, yakking with friends I only see once a year, or recording a show with Dr. Hal onstage with Tarzan’s Radio Station. No, instead I’m just sitting around the house like always, puttering, lollygagging, frittering, fiddling, and dilly-dallying.
My big plan for 7 a..m. July 5 is to make sure the dogs and cats are fed and that they are outdoors with us so that they aren’t drawn violently up through the roof when they’re Ruptured. I’m not getting on any Escape Planet where I can’t take my dogs and cats.
At least Wei will be here too. Last year it was just me and the pups, making a selfie for my YouTube channel. She was in Ohio for Starwood Festival and to sell her late mom’s condo. This year she’s just going to the Starwood Escape Planet, then coming right back to ours. She and Pater and Petal Nostril might go visit Lonesome Cowboy Dave in the Escape Nursing Home.
Last year there were big parties in various places, but I was not inclined to travel anywhere except to Planet X or the closest grocery store. Thanks to spinal cortisone injections, I’m in better shape to travel now, but… what would I do with the dogs? And we have chickens now too.
Well, I miss the impromptu parties and unexpected stage craziness, but I don’t miss the heat, ticks, mud, insane drunks, and least of all the HAULING, TOTING, SETTING UP, and PACKING. My back just plain got tired of breaking, and flat refuses to do that shit anymore. Can’t blame the poor thing.
I also don’t miss the personal embarrassment of having to repeat, every minute or two, “Excuse me, I’m very hard of hearing, so could you please repeat that OVER THIS INFERNAL DIN?” Poor hearing and the lack of subtitles have really cut back on my social life, not to mention my radio production.
And get this… until JUST NOW, I TOTALLY FORGOT about that OTHER holiday, THE 4th OF JULY! JESUS… THE STORES WILL ALL BE CLOSED! I gotta go… NOW!"
