The only time I saw him go quiet was his first tour with Joe McPhee. So much so that McPhee (a great leader) pulled up a chair and stopped playing, looking at him. That fixed it; no such issue the next time I saw them together

I didn't, for logistical reasons that make it impossible for me to get there in time (early show, 6pm on Sunday)
I wish I did, because it was the last show at my fave venue (in Montreuil) before the summer break (plus I have so many dance shows lined up in the fall I don't know when I'll go back)
