Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Original Sins | Live in the WFMU Studios | Engineered By Gil Shuster | While the Stooges, Ramones, Seeds, and 13th Floor Elevators certainly paved the way for armies of Garage Rock disciple bands, few have come up with the goods like Bethlehem, Pennsylvania's finest. Over 12 albums, frontman JT wrote classic songs through the band's mid 80's to mid 90's existence while simultaneously carving out his own supreme brand of psychedelic soul under the solo monicker Brother JT. Today on Brian's show it's an Original Sins reunion of sorts: organist Dan McKinney and drummer Seth Baer tear it up with JT once again, also joined by Photon Band bassist Art DiFuria. The set: She's About a Mover (Sir Douglas Quintet) / Turn You On / Watch You Dance / Now's the Time / She's On My Side / Can't Get Over You / I Must Be In Love (The Rutles) / Move / Making Time (The Creation) / Tearing Me In Two / Heard It All Before / The Party's Over Now / Inside Out / Shopping Trip To Mercury / Can't Feel a Thing / Not Gonna Be Alright / Get Right Back / Wake Me Shake Me. Thanks to the Sins and Gil for an amazing afternoon! Check out brotherjt.com as well for some Sins recorded action (as well as JT's). | 1:32:37 (Pop-up) | |
