Didn't get a chance to get to the record fair - looking for one hard to find - **Captain Beyond** the first 2 came out in like early 70's (lead singer was the very early *Deep Purple* singer Rod Evans but music is far "Beyond" *Deep Purple) - wondered if you or anyone there familiar with it - got the record but long unplayable .

(mta) Tony:

Yes Daniel, I'll be with you 'til sun up. Glad to find the Captain Beyond CD for Tom; Didn't realize he wanted the vinyl. The vinyl is available at this web site: Original vinyl from 1972 with 3D hollagram cover, slight wear on cover vinyl is good a few scratches one of the coolest album covers of all time. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000003CMR/104-0402588-0703112?ie=UTF8&shipPromoFilter=0&startIndex=25&sort=sip&me=&condition=all

  3:22am
(mta) Tony:

Tom, the reviews on this album are so terrific, that I'm gonna buy the CD without even hearing it, something I never do! The writers were so overwhelmed with the greatness of this album, I just gotta hear it for myself. I'll probably like it. The vinyl album costs $99 so I'm happy to have the CD for only $9.
  3:31am
Tom:

Tony all I can say is - I grew up in the middle of the "Prog_rock* height you could say - very litte of it I still listen to - the that "Captain Beyond" is one of the few exceptions - it is "unique" and even if you hate Prog Rock this one is Different // and the CD well worth the $10.00 - - even if you hated like Yes , ELP, Gentle Giant this is NOT like that at all ..very short lived they only had 3 records but that first one is the BEST by far before they got into the runofthemill type of songs they were pressured to do by the mid 70s' and by '77 they were no more and only toured very very little from what I've heard in those days ...
  3:38am
(mta) Tony:

Well I'll be sure to purchase that CD immediately. Thanks for the tip. I can't wait to hear it!
  3:44am
D. Blumin:

Now I gotta hear that rekkid - you fellas got me all progged up!
  3:48am
(mta) Tony:

Seems 8 fmu dj's played various CB tracks, but only 3 played songs from their first album. I ain't gonna listen to the archive. I'm gonna wait for the CD to arrive.
  3:51am
(mta) Tony:

Yay, Daniel, now we got YOU into it, too! Definitely play some! Any track selection tips for Daniel, Tom?
  3:56am
tom:

If you gonna play it Daniel ,, skip the 1st , track , and start with the 2nd **Armworth* they **MyopicVoid**. they flow into each other nicely the first track is more "mainstream"
  3:58am
Tom:

ohhh Inca Babies ,,, now I'm thinking back to like one of "Pats* old shows hehe
  4:01am
danny:

  4:07am
(mta) Tony:

We'll see if Daniel (the boss) can do any requests 2nite. Okay, I'm hitting the sac but staying awake listening. No more posts for me. Good night all and thanks for the turn-on. Peace, out. Hey Daniel, The Electrician was just played earlier today by Fabio! Love that track!
  4:18am
D. Blumin:

Nighty night Tony MTA
I'll get that Lee Ranaldo on - thx fer the suggesto, Danny in NC - that's the one where Lee sounds like all hell's breaking loose on gtrr and he's declaiming like he's on Speaker's Corner but all Red Bulled up!
Ooh, Fabio beat me to it - well if we all play it, it'll become a veritable HIT!
