did liz just leave that ian hellwell cd in the tray, b/c she just played one of his tracks..., very nice!
  12:29pm
Woody:

No, Ian Helliwell was me... getting the live music ready while also enjoying the track!
  12:31pm
Rob W:

Wonderful to hear Jozef van Wissem live on FMU. Beautiful. Tetuzi Akiyama will be great too.
  12:42pm
north guinea hills:

  12:45pm
north guinea hills:

hello tetuzi! it's been a long time since we grabbed chinese w/ you and keiko after that tonic gig. looking forward to your set
  2:05pm
Sarah:

This song includes a sample from the Goats! Got that album for Christmas fifteen years ago. Wondered if I'd every hear (any of) it on FMU. Nice treat.
  2:10pm
Woody:

sorry, been slow with the playlists.... that WAS the Goats.

-Woody
  2:16pm
Sarah:

Good to know they're still around.
  2:18pm
Woody:

actually it was probably said LP from 15 years ago :) Was reading an article from 1998 that said something like "nobody will remember the Goats in like 10 years", so I played it. I guess folks remembered the Goats
  2:23pm
Ike:

Billy Jam has also played stuff from that Goats album a few times (more so than his playlists indicate I think... could be mistaken).
  2:23pm
?:

I don't think it was from the record I have (Tricks of the Shade), but then I haven't listened to it in a couple of years. Now I will!

In any case, I'm glad to help prove that article wrong.
  2:25pm
Sarah:

Whoops, I see I'm wrong. It was probably their only album, come to think of it.
  2:27pm
jojo:

man i love the goats flashbacks from smoky college days...activating abondoned parts of my brain, anything else form those guys or was that one album it? that whole album was solid.
  2:32pm
Woody:

I only know that one Goats album although there may be some 12" b-sides out there...
  2:40pm
Patrick:

great show today love the busy boys track!!
  2:49pm
Ike:

Re: the Goats, allmusic.com says there was a second album, "No Goats No Glory" but gives it a terrible review, saying it was a sad attempt to cash in on the gangsta craze (and they're not normally very critical). They also list some singles but without giving details.
  2:54pm
north guinea hills:

i missed woody playing the goats (lunch break), but i remember the goats.... philly's finest! (we need more hiphop like the goats!!!)
  2:56pm
north guinea hills:

oh, and ike, yeah, i've heard billy jam jam the goats a bit...
